Released in Europe early May, release in US this summer:  Chucho Valdez and the Afro-Cuban Messengers Border Free

Chucho’s new recording features guest Branford Marsalis and Chucho’s own brand of fusion:  Afro-Cuban plus jazz plus new inspirations like the music of the North American Indians and of the Arab-Andalusian culture.

“I wondered if it was true that as you got older your desire to listen to music would die. Well, look at me; I’m about to turn 69 and, for me, that is all a lie. I am the same; my passion for learning and discovering things has even increased. Music never ends.”  –Chucho Valdes, 2010 interview allaboutjazz.com
